  • Serenity-Steps: Terms and Conditions -

  • 1. Introduction These terms and conditions govern the counselling services provided by Serenity Steps. By engaging our services you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

  • 2. Services 2.1 We provide counselling, psychotherapy, psychosocial recovery coaching and Life coaching services as outlined in our service agreement. The exact nature of services will be agreed upon during the initial consultation. 2.2 Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and may be conducted in-person, online, or via telephone, as agreed upon. 2.3 We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services at our discretion. This will be discussed with you before our services are discontinued

  • 3. Appointments and Cancellations 3.1 You are responsible for scheduling appointments through our booking system or directly with us. 3.2 A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session fee. 3.3 We will Endeavor to provide timely notice if we need to cancel or reschedule a session.

  • 4. Fees and Payment 4.1 Our current fees are listed on our website at serenity-steps.com. We reserve the right to adjust fees with notice. 4.2 Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon. 4.3 We accept bank transfer, credit card and debit cards      

  • 5. Confidentiality 5.1 We maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with professional ethics and legal requirements. 5.2 Exceptions to confidentiality which include risk of harm to self or others, child abuse, or when required by law will be discussed with you at the start of your first session. Any time a member of Serenity-Steps needs to break confidentiality, they will discuss this with you first.

  • 6. Online Services 6.1 For online sessions, you are responsible for ensuring a stable internet or phone connection and a private environment. 6.2 We use secure platforms for online sessions but cannot guarantee complete confidentiality of electronic communications.

  • 7. Client Responsibilities 7.1 You agree to participate actively in the counselling process and provide accurate information. 7.2 You are responsible for your own decisions and actions resulting from counselling.

  • 8. Termination of Services 8.1 Either party may terminate services at any time. We recommend a final session to ensure proper closure. 8.2 We may terminate services if we believe they are no longer beneficial or appropriate.

  • 9. Liability 9.1 While we strive to provide effective services, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. 9.2 To the full extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss, damage, or injury resulting from our services.  

  • 10. Privacy 10.1 We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and relevant privacy laws.  

  • 11. Complaints 11.1 If you have any concerns, please discuss them with us directly. If unresolved please contact the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on 1300 302 502. You may also contact the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia on 03 9046 2270
